Headed down to New York today for a day at the museum. Just because I keep track of revenue doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate what that revenue can provide. Looking forward to ideas, and getting a truly worthwhile museum headache.
Aww — too bad I didn’t know you were coming! I could’ve played hooky and bought you a street vendor hotdog! Or at the very least had a chat over a cappucino!
Enjoy your hunting,

It was a whim! But oh, my, what fun this is!

Did you catch the Impressionism & fashion show at the Met? My friend and I were hoping to go, but now it looks like time is running out!! If you saw it I’d love to know what you thought!
Best,

I did! That’s why I went down– I had one free day. Go early, the gallery gets crowded but it is well worth seeing. The paintings and the clothes are great separately, but together they’re pretty wonderful.

Loved your post on punk. I am just a generation too late to appreciate it, but like most “topical” cultural items, you can only ride the wave for as long as its cresting, and waves seem to be shorter and shorter as time goes on!!! The shock we got wearing fingertip length skirts, dating guys with hair longer than ours… Well, that gets to be old pretty quickly, and needs more and more electricity to convey the same charge. I love to look at olden days’ styles and try to see them with the eyes of their forebears–that nearly naked Empire lady seen with the eyes of someone who had worn hoops, the flapper leaving the house of the parent still in high button shoes. That I think would be a fascinating display, and a chance to see the past with our own eyes. Maybe some day?
Enjoy your trip home,
Best,
